  • Sit down and evaluate your situation. many factors come into place, when considering a divorce. you need to consider the who, what, when, where and why you want a divorce. will each of you be happier apart, rather than together? Many married couples remarry after divorcing. i assume they both realize that they each had it better, together, than they realized. Weigh all the pros and cons of a divorce. sometimes, just the threat of a divorce, can be a wakeup call for a couple. it makes you realize just how good or how really bad your marriage has come to be. Think about it once, twice and three times, before making a final decision. Once separated, the trust you each one had in each other, is no more. its not the same.
  • I think if you can't figure out how to part ways after 3 tries, it's time to get help. Or try to agree on a time limit before you go to court. I did it once -- me and my ex figured using courts and lawyers could be so expensive, with neither of us being confident that a judge would agree with our idea of "fair share" -- that we figured it out by ourself, with the help of a mutually chosen attorney.
