  • Either that, or some other cult, though it might be a perversion of a Biblical verse.
  • I think it's BECAUSE the idea of Jesus riding a bike is so ludicrous that it helps the expression amplify shock or surprise. I mean it's a lot more polite then saying ''Bleeding Christ'', and I'm sure even Jesus gets a laugh out of it, too. :) Don't think it's a reference to any Biblical related scriptures or works though. O_o Unless bike was transformed from...pike, cross, some sort of demonstrative execution implement. (He was impaled from side to side with a spear to see if he was still alive.)
  • Hmmm..I've always heard "Christ on a cracker"...
  • I have never heard that particular term before. I can tell you that there are no references to bicycles in the Book of Mormon.
  • Hey...if God can be one of us, just a stranger on a bus, who says his only begotten son can't choose a Huffy instead?!
  • Um, wow. I've actually never heard that one before. There certainly isn't, nor would there be, any reference to such a phrase, even remotely, in the Bible or the Book of Mormon (did the person asking this question actually crack open either book to check it out? If they don't have one handy, it's all at http://scriptures.lds.org) I do believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ have a sense of humor (they do, after all, live in a state of perpetual joy). But what I can't understand is how this is any different than using Christ's name in vain in the "traditional" ways that people do so. It's still saying his name without prayerful purpose or feeling. It's just a substitute for something else that the person is thinking to say, but feels this is a way to deaden the impact a little. Personally, I find it offensive. But *laugh* I'm "just a Mormon, who doesn't believe in the 'right' Jesus" according to many "mainstream" Christians I've met, whom I've also known to have no problem using His name in vain. That's the way the world goes, I guess. http://americantestament.blogspot.com
  • This is really weird. The only method of transport I ever heard in regard to Jesus was him riding on a colt.
  • I know Talim here mentioned that Jesus was desirous of obtaining a bicycle and a Devo hat for Christmas one year. So, that could be something you might want to look into.
  • there are no bicycles in the Book of Mormon either.. it's merely a figure of speech..
  • No. I think they used aeroplanes back in the Lord's day, but just did not want to show off to future generations; so they never mentioned them in the Bible!
  • Nope, nothing to do with the Book of Mormon. Just another one of those attempt at using humor to obscure taking the Lord’s name in vain. (Though I know I shouldn’t laugh at such sacrilege, I must admit that I, too, have heard some pretty funny ones.)
  • There is no reference to a bicycle in the Book of Mormon, its just a saying.
  • Deuteronomy 7:2
  • It is JOSEPH SMITH on a bike. He's the focal point, not Jesus christ.
  • It's not really a bicycle, it's a motorcycle. The reference is somewhere in the Book of Fonzie, I forget which passage.
  • xD lmao!
  • Who with any common since would ask the question "Did jesus ride a bicycle?" I can't help but wonder if this is an attempt to falsely place in the minds of others that the book of mormon talks about jesus riding a bicycle. Which it does not.
  • Not knowing under what circumstances you heard this phrase, I can only guess. Since our missionaries for the most part all ride bicycles, and preach of Christ I can forsee someone saying "Christ on a bike" in reference to them, perhaps. Again if I knew how this phrase was used at the time, it would help. Meanwhile I'm sure you already know the bicycle was not around during the time of Christ. whew4
  • No, but "Jesus ate a can of beans" is.
  • It's in the book of Ralph. you just missed it
