  • someone got up on the wrong side of the bible today-didnt they mystery downrater? not even enough conviction to damn me for eternity? ITS A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!
  • Yes, and he was prescribed Prozac sometime between Leviticus and Revelations.
  • Not sure what god that you're talking about. My God is spelled with a capitol G.
  • No, the OT was necessary to bring man to a point that the NT would even be possible. Oh. Drat. A joke. Okay, in that case, nah, all those classes to is teach you not to act out your anger. You don't learn to love the gov't system you've learned to hate. Wups, did I say that out loud???
  • No - just hired a better PR team.
  • He must have done. But the Prozac must have worn off before Revelation. If it's the same god. I'm not convinced that he is. But the NT god still demands a blood sacrifice for some unspecified "sin" that seems to have been inherited from Adam, even though the OT god put a statute of limitations on inherited sin past the fourth generation. And then the sacrificial victim demands that all his followers eat his flesh and drink his blood regularly and forever until the end of time. The NT god seems to approve of human sacrifice and cannibalism.
  • lmao... that's a good one *.*
  • No. Just ran outta fire and brimstone?! ;-)
  • he did kinda chill out didn't he...and on the 7th day there was weed.. and happy with his creation he said this is good!
  • Not really. This is one of the quandries when one endeavors to take the Bible literally. God did not change between the Old and New Testaments but our understanding of who and what God changed dramatically. Even a close look between the early and later writings of the Old Testament show a growth in our understanding of God. For example: 2 Samual 24:1: The LORD'S anger against Israel flared again, and he incited David against the Israelites by prompting him to number Israel and Judah. 1 Chronicles 21:1: A satan rose up against Israel, and he enticed David into taking a census of Israel. 1 and 2 Samuel were compiled in the seventh century B.C.E. before the Jewish exile in Babylon. 1 and 2 Chronicles were compiled in the fifth century B.C.E. after the Jewish exile in Babylon. The change in the term from the LORD's anger to a satan reflects the changed theological outlook of postexilic Israel, when evil could no longer be attributed directly to God. The growing knowledge of God by Israel during these centuries has continued through the ages and still continues today when we can even say that God is Love. With love in Christ.
  • No, he just became a father and changed his priorities. :-)
  • Always wondered about a split-personality myself.
  • No, the God of the Old Testament is the same God as the New Testament. In the Old Testament, He is revealed to be a God who is "merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, but who will by no means clear the guilty" (Exodus 34). In the New Testament, He is revealed to be the same when God in Christ died in the place of sinners to reconcile us to Himself.
  • Actually I wonder how many of you have ever read the Bible. It actually mentions how much God loves mankind and doesn't want them to suffer eternal punishment. The ratio of verses involving God loving mankind from the OT to the NT is 2:1 Also check out the psalms if you would dare.
