  • ahaha I have done this a few times. Very rude to do and most of the time not a good thing. There are very few situations where one could be up to something good texting and ignoring their date... But you should ask why they are doing it and who they are texting
  • To put is simply this behavior is extremely rude, and he or she lacks basic manners.
  • it's not exactly polite, and if he's being secretive i think i'd get a little hurt, but if he tells me who's texting him and what the issue is i usually wouldn't think anything bad about it afterwards. perhaps a friend went thru a bad break up or something. it happens. so while it's unintentionally rude, i'd just tell him to say he's busy n he'd get bak asap
  • Well I had to break up with my girlfriend because we were playing pool and she was not into the game and kept texting someone and was nervous about it and she seemed shady. When I asked her she said it may have been a girlfriend or some friend. She could not give me a straight answer. I was excited about the Pool Game, spending time with, bounding and by her texting through the whole game it made me upset since it was extremely rude and disrespectful. To a guy respect is key for things to work in a relationship. 6

  • It seems to me like he is trying to hide something. There is nothing wrong with texting, but he shouldn't hide it from you by waiting till you are gone. Why can't he text whie you are around? I would say it's not a good thing.
  • I'm gonna go against all the other answers... I don't think that texting when you're not around is necessarilly a bad thing. It depends on who he's texting, of course. So just nonchalantly ask him what's up. If he's way guarded with his response, then you might have grounds to worry. Another possibility is that he's fidgeting with his phone, something that I'm pretty sure that damn near everybody's done at one time or another, when they're out somewhere, and they don't feel entirely comfortable. (Like at a party, when the only one you know is the girl you came with, and she ran to the bathroom...)
  • simply put it is a bad sign
