  • I can only speak for myself, but I can say that when I read a book for pleasure, I remember way more than if I read a book because I am told to for a class.
  • I don't remember a damn thing I read in school, even if it was interesting. I don't like being told what to do, even if it pertains to my interests, or that it might. Although I will remember things I read out of pleasure or interest, what stands out the most from what I've read in history books are bits and pieces that somehow shocked or surprised me, details that had some sort of impact. So I guess that counts for class material too. It's kind of weird I guess, but that's how it works in my head. I don't remember much ''details'' either way though, which is why I was never good with history, weather in school or when I try to learn about it myself. In the grand scheme of things, sometimes dates and places seem irrelevant in comparison to what it was that happened.
