  • We did and had better success with that than with trying to remember to add the liquid chlorine. We just put one in the floaty and the kids were always good about checking it when they put it back in the pool after playing.
  • When I was a kid that was all we used but we put them in at night after everyone got out of the pool then they didnt get in the way. I now use baquacil products which were great at first but now i seem to keep having a problem keeping the pool regulated and I think i too will start using the chlorine tabs this year.
  • The chlorine pucks work fine. Make sure the pucks you get are the stabilized ones. The only issue here is the floating dispenser. These don't work so well. You're better of installing an in line or off line chlorinator such as the hayward cl 200 or cl 220. They regulate your chlorine output better and more evenly throughout the pool than a floatie.
  • The tabs are better than the liquid. The liquid has a Ph of about 13 and when you use it you will have to keep adding muriatic acid to help keep the pool balanced. The tabs can last up in one week or longer when put in one of the floats you need to put in your pool. You don't need to remove this float when people are in the pool, but is recommended if kids are in so they don't play with them. I was very pleased with their effectiveness and ease of use when I maintained 68 pools in Hawaii.
  • Our pool maintenance man uses both. He puts in the liquid when the test shows it needs liquid, and the rest of the time, the floater is filled with tabs to dissolve throughout the week between visits.
