  • If you hang out around people who'd tell that you're going to hell, you're probably there already.
  • Set the bible on Fire then you wont go to hell
  • It's true- we can't judge people. However, we can judge confessions- what people say they believe, and say whether or not those things are wrong. We're told to check out what people are teaching, so we know whether or not that person is from God. We can look at and judge actions- note, not the people. We have standards- if you are thankful to God, you avoid certain things and try to do others. If a person says they are Christian but flaunt that, we can read their actions and tell them what we see. Notice also- take the plank from your own eye, AND THEN take the speck from your brothers. Once we see ourselves for the sinners we are, once we live in the light of God's forgiveness- once our sinful planks have been taken out, we can try to reach others. And that includes condemning false confessions, false beliefs, and wrong actions.
  • I've always thought that the people who are most likely to go to hell are the people who think that anyone at all is going to hell. So, I guess I agree...
  • Mathew 7:1&2 "Do not Judge, or you too will be Judged. 2 For in the same way you Judge others, you will be Judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Now U didn't give us a "Scripture Reference" to work with, so I chose this as a Clear Example of how people try to "Distort/Twist" Gods Word. This is why people need to STUDY DAILY the Word of God! 2 Timothy 2:15 " Be Diligent to present yourself Approved Unto God as a Workman who does not need to be Ashamed, Handling Accurately the Word of Truth." We were given "Free Will" to make "Judgments" Using Scripture as our Guide with the Holy Spirit. But Satan is "The Great Accuser" it's not our "Job" & we often "Abuse" it in our "Arrogance" under "Christian Degeneracy". People send themselves to Hell by Not Accepting Christ Period!!! Once "Saved" we can do nothing to lose our Salvation, to think so is Arrogance!!! John
  • The bible doesn't say that judging another person automatically condemns that person to hell; merely that you'll be judged by the same criteria that you judge others. I'm an atheist, and even *I* know THAT...
  • my point is more on condeming someone than judging someone...I hear it all the time as if no big deal..last night on AB, a guy was asking a sencere question about his soul, and some girl, just so casually, it seemed, responded "nope, see ya in hell". i hardly slept, it is just hard for me to understand how we can do this, even to atheists, it is just not our call.. and I do not hang around people with this character...I once heard my ex daughter in law tell my son, and for no reason at all, he asked where a shirt was, "I wish you'd burn in hell". I will never forget the hurt on his face...neither one of us ever mentioned it ... i was fishin with a girlfriend once, she was mad at her husband, said "I hope he has a heart attack and goes to hell" ! tried to say "you don't mean that" but she was that mad but it is no excuse for such bad behavoir... i just wanted to see if this affects others as bad as it does me when I hear it, but never mind...I want to withdraw it...please. Barbara
  • i agree with you in that they should not be judging people like that. But all i can say is that god will judge everyone when the time comes. it is no one elses buisness but gods. i just hate it when people try to tell others that they are going to hell. god also talks about forgivness!!!!!!!
  • absolutely true. Read the book of Romans chapter 10 and this will verify this to be so.
  • "...for a tree is recognized by its FRUIT... for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." (Matt 12:33-34) We are not called to judge one another but LOVE one another. But we are called with a mandate to preach the Gospel to those who don't believe. And we know who they are by the fruit (or lack thereof) that they bear. Hope this helps! God bless
  • That is true. Ultimately, no one can know who is going to hell, except God. So no one should say "you are going to hell". HOWEVER, they can say "if you don't accept the promise of Jesus, then you are in danger of going to hell." (because that is a Biblical teaching).
  • The bible's mandate for Christians is to tell people of the good news of sins forgiven through the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is God who is judge of people and not man!
  • You understand the Bible? WOW!
  • I agree. Some Christians are a little too fervent in their faith and feel it their duty to 'correct' others. Little do they know how wrong they are.
  • While I agree whole heartedly that to judge another is not Christlike at all, this question and the agreeable answers should not be used as a justification for the thing that caused the rude judgement... What I mean is this: If you are committing adultery and someone tells you that you are going to hell doesnt make the adultery right because they should not be judging you... (HEB 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.) I have seen a link between people who judge and people who gossip so I would avoid this person if I were you. But its not easy to learn not to judge, especially when there is emotional attachment. Its usually some kind of manipulative control thingy. Big Stick Scare Tatics or something like that. "If you wont do this I will hit you." - Except in your case you were hit with hell and not a stick. If only we could all learn to mind our own business and accept each other unconditionally...
  • They only tell you that because they know it make you feel bad. It's the 'holier than thou lot'. I wouldn't worry about it. They're just making fools of themselves.
  • If a person is asking for the truth in Gods word we are to tell them and let them know that God loves them enough to free them also. No one should feel condemned. The Lord called me and it was all about His love. The bible says the truth will set you free. Spreading the Gospel is all about what Jesus did for us. Its love that brings us to him not condemnation.
  • This kind of made me laugh (oops) But whenever I ask my dad, "Hey what're you doing?" He always says : "Goin' to hell if I don't change my ways." Always makes me laugh cause he's just a big bear. Or i guess I do roll my eyes sometimes.. But, if someone truly believes that someone is going to hell because of what they do, it isn't their place to tell them. Who knows. God is good, so maybe he has a softspot so to speak for all his creations.
  • He is merciful, but yet He is just. When one judges another, that standard of judging will also be used back on that person. This is not to say that judging is a "bad" thing. If you're walking with God in clean conscience with His will, you also would be using His Word to minister to others so that they too, can get right with God just as the one who's corrected you has. In this sense, it is a good thing! If they're clean from sin forgiven, no condemnation.
  • Right.. Judge righteous Judgements is what it would really translate into. Judge not is a translation error. It is impossible to not judge as every decision you make is in essence a judgement. so it would be more correctly translated. Judge Righteous Judgements for the same measure ye mete it shall be meted back to ye. Or why notice the speck in your brothers eye when there is a beam in your own eye.. Forgivemen their trespasses and your heavenly Father shall also Forgive you your trespasses. Forgive not and neither shall your heavenly Father forgive yours. and it also Goes onto say. Whosoever is angry at his Brother without a just cause is in danger of his Judgement. and whosoever shall say to another "Ye Fool" is in danger of hell Fire. We should always consider ourselves the fool and not our Brother.
  • hang on if it is sin to judge how is god sinless? I agree that being judged by foolish mortals is pittifull, but I question gods right to judge anyone and call himself mercifull, even one person in hell disproves the whole god theory doesnt it? contradictions that leave more questions.
  • Yupper...I do agree...NOT MY JOB!
