  • When you upload a movie to YouTube it is converted from whatever resolution you used to a flash movie of 320x240 resolution. So, when you make your movie with iMovie set the output resolution to 320x240, This will cause the loss of resolution to happen on your end and the difference won't be as bad. Then when you upload, YouTube won't touch the encoding. There will still be a loss of quality when they convert from quicktime to flash but it won't be as great as before. Hope this helps.
