Are the musical brand name 'Dean' guitars any good? Are their bass guitars of a high quality/good sound?

    well once i played a dean 5 string bass... i forgot exactly what its name was but it was very very good..
    Personally i wouldn't buy a dean and suggest that you look around a bit more because for a few more money you could buy a better bass which keeps its value along the years..
    But after all if you play a dean and feel its right from the beginning, you should buy it..

    Dean guitars have been played by rock and roll artists Dimebag Darrell and Michael Shenker. They are generally considered a "high end" guitar. Not sure which models you are considering, but even Dean offers $99 dollar guitars. Typically with an electric guitar (or bass) the more you can spend, the more you will get, pickups alone can vary from $10 to several hundred $. Find a local music store that will let you play a few and find a sound that you want. One other way to find out what a "good" brand of guitar is, is to keep a watch on sites like e-bay and watch what the resale value is. Cheapos are hard to give away.
