  • The California State Mental Hospital at Camarillo, so called by some of the staff who worked there. This interpretation is backed up by the lyric from the song: '"So I called up the captain, Please bring me my wine, He said "We haven't had that spirit here since 1969"'. The staff used to give wine to the patients to calm them before dinner. This practice was halted in 1969.
  • I assume you mean the song by The Eagles? There is no actual Hotel California as far as I know, I believe the Hotel is a metaphor for the Californian music industry. It can perhaps seem enticing and tempting at first, but when you arrive, it's something of trap, filling it's residence for lust of success. I think thats the song's meaning. I may be over analysing it a little.
