Sperm are biologically ready to swim up to reach the egg. A lot of times they don't make it but sometimes they do resulting in pregnancy.

There are lots of theories of how to best accomodate their travel to the egg but in reality they will always fight just the same to reach their goal. If you are looking for the best chance try to make sure you are hot, as this best accomodates them.

    Enjoy.

i have read this on many websites, there are so many things you can do to improve your chances, that being one of them. apparently the best positions are like missionary or doggy, ones where your womb is tilted downwards for gravitational reasons... but i think sometimes the websites go too far with the tips, like dont drink coffee, smoke, be overweight.... if smack heads can get pregnant by accident then surely coffee and cigarettes wont hinder that much?!

The purpose of continuing to lay on your back for 30 minutes is to give time for the semen to coagulate in the vagina and not leak out. The sperm will last 5-7 days inside your uterus which gives you time to ovulate and for the sperm to find the egg.

They can swim, unless of course your on your period. If you've ever swam upstream its pretty hard.
