  • are you sure? i cant believe it. i dont even want to have dvd in my car - i like my kids (age 7 and 5) to listen to story cd's both short and long (harry potter read by stephen fry is brill) to encourage them to use their imagination rather than sit goggle eyed and not communication with each other. i also give them clip boards with colourings and word searches and dot to dots etc. needles to say, we drove to AUSTRIA - 871 miles each way and not a murmer of boredom from either of them!!!!! p.s the library is a great place to get story cds and tapes for free!
  • next will be strollers with dvd-players built in and tiny headphones so that he/she can listen to baby einstein undisturbed...... i don't think it's a good idea, but you asked what's next.
  • Making your baby watch DVDs doesn't mean you're intelligent, it means you're a slave to the consumerist culture you live in.
  • I'm guessing a backlash at technology overload is coming. Parents and society that are pushing an overload of technology and commercialism on their kids are going to end up having their kids lash back at the overload. People are not allowed to focus on basic skills of simple survival anymore. Common sense is no longer common. I have no problem with technology, but it needs to be balanced with simple skills and knowledge. Teach a kid how and why plants grow and they can feed themselves, but if they are taught that all food comes from McDonalds with a toy, and they will never feed themselves.
  • What?? The MOM? Are you sure? That must be a mistake. In most families the baby is the expert for setting up multimedia gear.
