Just because someone flags a question as nonsense, doesn't mean it will get approved. It will only hurt the flagger if it isn't nonsense. It will only be approved nonsense, if it actually is nonsense...in which case needs to be removed.

The small minded are often offended by what they don't understand and wish to eliminate it.

Because, "What does it", "55 Chevy engine", "Eat me!", and "I had sex last night" are NOT valid questions. They will screw up searches for real questions with the same keywords... They will take up space on the home page and other question list pages where REAL questions should appear... Since there's no real way to answer them, then what good are they to anyone else? Remember, the main purpose of this site started with FAQs, and has evolved into creating a huge database of searchable (through Google and other search engines) questions and answers, so people can FIND those answers, easily. If they have to wade through a bunch of partial and nonsense questions to find their answers, they will go elsewhere. AND, no matter WHAT anyone flags a question, if the staff moderators don't agree, then it will remain. if they do, it will become "nonsense". (BTW: Flagging all questions on the screen as nonsense, if they are not, has the potential to get you PBed for bad flagging. And, yes... It does happen.) Besides, this isn't OUR site. It started as Joel Downs', went to another company, and is now Demand Media's. Whatever they decide goes. If they want to allow crap questions like the above, they'll cancel out the "nonsense" flag.

I AGREE SO MUCH WITH YOU!! I left Yahoo Questions/Answers Site because of these self opinionated morons who have no sense of humour and so block others from forming their own opinions. I see this site has the same bozos on it too. Answer Bag should take the 'Nonsense' button away and have one which can only be used for perceived UNLAWFUL POSTS which they could monitor and ban if truly unlawful. Racist. Sexist. Obscene etc. All you need at the moment is some idiot to press the 'Nonsense' button for everything and Answer Bag might as well shut down.
