That myth is pretty old, dating back to when people didn't have cars. Wonder how it would apply today? If the myth itself meant a literal house or conventional living establishment, then a car might not do it...vampires are known to crash through sheds and barns to go after you, even if it's yours. But if it entails a place YOU call home, weather it has walls or not, it might be safe.
