  • this is very illegal especially if there is any evidence of nude people.the employer who installed this probebly would not of have told you because most people know its illegal to invade other peoples privacy , i would talk to other staff member's to see what you could do about this matter. good luck !!
  • This is illegal and you should make a complaint if the camera is still there. A camera in any private place (especially where people are likely to be undressing) is seen a gross invasion of privacy and this is a serious crime. There are other ways to catch a thief and the evidence from this camera would not stand up in court due to the conditions of its installation. Your boss should have been aware of this and if not, ignorance is no excuse!
  • no it is not legal, it is an invasion of one's privacy. and he had no right to do this.
  • I would think that it was illegal, and, as said above, would not stand up in a court as evidence.
  • I do not know the law in this matter, but I know I would find this disturbing. You can check the yellow pages of your phone book for the Lawyer Referral Service. You tell them the situation and they will refer you to an attorney with the specialty you need. You will get 30 min of free consultation and under no obligation to hire him/her if you decide to peruse this in court.
  • While there is a common law of privacy in every state, such laws are very rarely used in surveillance cases, especially those pertaining to an employees conduct while on the job. The way the law stands that this very moment, an employer can for the most part put a Hidden Camera anywhere (including the restroom), and there's little, if anything, that anyone can do about it. http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/about-hidden-camera-laws.html
  • It is absolutely illegal. Your company could be in a lot of trouble.
  • How hidden was this camera if you know about it? Is your employer homosexual and he wants to see men in their tighty whities? He could have a big lawsuit on his hands if he tried to use this "evidence" he filmed in place where total privacy is expected.
  • this is completely illegal. no-one should be filmed in their nudity without notification or permission to do so. it is a complete violation of privacy, and some may even see it as perverted. Why would anyone need to go to these measures just because someone was scribbling on a locker? you wouldnt need a camera for goodness sake.
