she could be just scared being brought into a totally new enviroment, or maybe her previous owned was cruel to her and she is just trying to adjust to you.my guess is try to spend lots of time with her and get friendly with her and then when she trusts you she should eat. good luck !!

Take your dog to a vet ASAP for a full examination! You rescued her to give her a better life, this includes having to take immediate action (as you would with a child) when something is not right. The shelter might have missed something serious when they examined her. It's probably nothing serious, but you need to know, the clock is ticking! She could be depressed from surviving a horrible experience. It could just as easily be a fatal disease too. I know you don't want to think later all you did was sit back and watch her slowing suffer to death. Betty has got to eat and take in water every day, or she will starve as organs begin to shut down. Don't wait another day to see if she eats . . . She's family now! Best wishes for a healthy, happy life together. * Just wondering . . . How is Betty doing? 345am 081706

We had a dog do that once at our house. She is probably suffering from heartbreak from being away from the normal people shes use to and has come to love. We cured our dog by constantly playing and talking to the dog, and give her good treats alot, so she comes to realize youre nice. Thenn she'll start liking you. At least thats how our dog responded to treats and attention.

All dogs go off their feed from time to time, but if it has been more that three day I would seek attention from a veterinarian,

Check with the vet and all that. I heard a story about one dog that did that, and when the family contacted the shelter that they got her from, found out that she was strongly bonded with another dog there. The family adopted the other dog too and everyone was happy. She just missed her other friend too. [from animal planet news]
