  • Yes, I had to wait for that call several times, and hear the bad news three times. But, the other calls after that were good news! I can empathize with you; I know it sucks to have to wait. But in the meantime, try to calm yourself by doing things that you like. What helped me was to try to be prepared for the worst, even while hoping for the best. And when I did get that call, I knew what had to happen and when. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I did the best I could to control whatever was in my ability to control, and try not to obsess about the things that weren't. I wish you the best. If you want to "talk," my email is in my profile.
  • Hi Audiotron. I have been thinking about you for days and I continue to do so. I have also been praying for you. Last Thursday, I kept thinking about you at work, wondering "I hope Audiotron comes through his surgery well." Now I am still anticipating with you. You are in my heart. Please do not despair even if you get bad news. My mother fell ill back in 2004 with an aggressive form of leukemia (she was 71 at the time). For about 2 weeks she was ill but we didn't know what was going on, until a blood test one day. Later that evening, the doctor called at around 10 p.m. I suspected the worse (doctors don't usually call your house at 10 p.m.!). My heart sank and our lives changed forever. But my mother fought and went through rounds of chemotherapy for months. She lost her hair, her weight, and was sick. Yet she survived and is now in remission. She is healthy today (knock on wood!!). We can only hope and pray for the best each day. And I will pray for you too my friend.
  • I had an MRI last July to determine what a lump in my throat was. I had to wait a week, but it didn't make me anxious. Turned out to be a malignant tumor which was removed in August.
  • Yes. If the doctor's office doesn't call in what I think is a reasonable amount of time, I call him. Doctors and their staff get backed up and the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I'm sometimes the squeaky wheel.
