Do you mean David Marks? He was on a couple of their early records, but left when Al Jardine left college to come back into the band.

When Al Jardine went to college(oh dear,a rock star going to college?)David Marks replaced him,but then left once Al came back. I love these "lost band member" controversies,much like Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best on The Beatles.

David Marks. He was a major contributor to their sound when they were starting out in their early teens. He was a neighbor and grew up with the Wilson boys. He was a Beach Boy. It wasn't Jardine's return to the band but problems with the Wilson boys father Murry that caused his departure from the band. Murry Wilson was the Joe Jackson of the Wilson family and drove the boys mercilessly. He eventually had an argument with Mark's father that proved to be the last nail in the coffin.

Marks is right, but Daryl Dragon--the Captain of Tennille fame--worked with them on one album and Tennille sang with them.
