When purchasing rechargeable AA batteries for my Nikon digital camera, am I better off purchasing regular NiMH batteries that are 2650 mAh or LSD NiMH batteries that are 2000 mAh?

Always purchase the battery with the highest rated capacity, in this case 2650 mAh. They will last longer in service, with and without the flash. You should also ensure that you purchase good-quality batteries from a known manufacturer. Most no-name batteries do not perform as well as most of the name-brand products (e.g., ). There is a reason 'discount' batteries cost less, apart from having a smaller advertising budget.

Depends on the specific application... I have the 2500's and on a wedding yesterday I took 700 pictures and replaced the batteries 3 times because they died on me. Fortunitly I bought 16 batteries and my Nikon Speedlight 800 uses 5 batteries per round...
