In some ways that's a sign of democracy, as we are not forced to vote.

The government is giving them all of their services now. Why vote? the pols will take care of them regardless.

It's not a sign of a healthy democracy (in the US either). But is it a totally bad thing that uninformed and unmotivated, and therefore possibly more easily manipulated, people stay out of the process? (Just being the devil's advocate here.)

yes!! because democracy is giving people the choice to vote. If no-one turns up to vote, then thats their problem
