All I can say is DO NOT take effexor! This is what happened to me and a lot of other people when they were coming off it http://www.medhelp.org/.../267377

I'm taking 265mg of the effexor xr, at first I had really bad nausea and couldn't eat, now feel much better, no side effects, its helping my anxiety, ocd and depression. No weight gain.

I took it for about 2 weeks, and I kept feeling like my eye was going to pop out of it's socket. It was very disturbing, so I quit taking it.

No. But I'd rather gain weight than have my eye pop out. It was pretty scary. I'm probably the only one that this happened to, though. I'm just lucky like that. ;)

well, as of thursday I started taking it. I think I'm going to stop because it's making me twitch like crazy!

Well, that sucks. Maybe you're still adjusting to the meds and it will go away. Ask your doc.

I had never heard them called that - but yeah, thats a pretty good description. and they aren't "bad" per se...just odd.

hm, good thing about the weight gain. I was just reading a forum full of unfortunate people that gained 20+ pounds on that stuff...

no weight gain - but until my body got used to having it in my system, and this is the only way I can describe it, I got a brain "whoosh" feeling...strangest thing I have ever felt. Like a deja vu in a wind tunnel in your head. It went away after about a month. I actually kinda miss it.
