Of course they do. They are humans. You get on with some people better than you do with others. Learn to live with it.

Teachers are human. They can't help but identify with and get along with some students better and more easily than with others. Most teachers try hard not to "play favorites", but it can be hard to be entirely fair, even with trying as hard as they can. (Some don't try at all, and thus tend to play favorites constantly. Those aren't usually very good teachers.)
