  • I would imagine that we have become more caring as we have become more civilised. We are more able to prolong life and prevent death. We expect all our children to live, and (to some extent) we have developed means of persuading those who oppose our ideas to at least see things our way. These things have made us more squeamish about death, as we experience seeing it less.
  • I don't think we've changed all that much. When I look at people, especially political leaders, I still see the same cavemen with more advanced weapons. I think our only advancement is really empirical knowledge. Sure, we have had some people that are more advanced, Socrates, Da Vanci. But it seems the gap between a monkey and the average person is smaller than that of regular person and a genius. I think there might be a larger percentage of these "geniuses" now than thousands of years ago, but these people typically aren't the ones who desire power like that of your average politician or clergyman. Which makes it harder for the human race to advance as a whole. A liberal person will be considered conservative in 20 years with no change of thought. Sorry, kind of rambling, I'm sort of a lucid thinker, does that answer the question?
  • We are the same when it comes to getting the most basic of drives fulfilled, such as water, food, and sex! But we may have new ways of obtaining them today! We have found ways to obtain things in a subtle manner thus less risk taking in the process! We're not as bold today because there is no need to be!
  • "But it seems the gap between a monkey and the average person is smaller than that of regular person and a genius." Do you realize what you are saying? A monkey barely has a train on thought. It's mostly a reaction to the environment around it. The average person can speak, that alone is one huge example of superb intellect. The average person can learn to understand a genious' thought process. An ape will never understand any thought process, even the smallest, of a human.
