Dude, all the time. Mostly when I'm really excited about something and can't find my words, I just go "Dude! Dude, look!"

Almost never. BUT if I have to talk to a group of surfie/hooligan/delinquents or some guys who might try to take my wallet or something, I'll use their language & use 'dude' so I sort of 'normalise' with them. (I was taught to do that in psych. to defuse different situations)

Rarely. Though when I lived in a real cow county, we used it to describe people who only pretended to be real cowboys and it was not a nice thing to be called. It was quite derogatory.
