I think is a great benefit and advantage to the interviewer, because the interviewer can evaluate a lot of people in a shorter amount of time than if the interviewer had to see everyone separately. It might also have some advantage for the prospect since the prospect can get the interview more quickly than waiting for a few more people to have their interviews. Also by seeing the other prospect they might get a good idea of how good are their chances of landing the job.

if there are a lot of people to see then the group interview cuts down on the time it takes to assess candidates. A group interview allows completely unsuitable candidates to be quickly identified and weeded out leaving behind only those who are actually qualified for the position. It saves time, resources and ultimately money in the initial stages of the interview process. Once the group has been whittled down and those unsuitable candidates removed, this should leave the 'cream of the crop'(or the best) applicants who will then be interviewed on a one-to-one basis. How did yours go? Any good?

I would be worried about taking a position where they wouldn't take time to interview one on one right away. If they do not take the time to pick the top resumes and to get to know you personally; how are they going to treat you as an employee? On the other hand if the Group interview involved other employees in your department(open house) and gave them a chance to be apart of picking the top candidates it could be a great opportunity.
