I am doing an assignment about the Mac OS X Leopard.
My question is about the impact this operating system has on businesses and society as a whole.

    Well, one effect it has on businesses is to reduce their support costs. It’s been estimated that switching one Ms Windows–based PC to a Mac will save a company $2,300/year in ROI and support costs. While this information is certainly a bit dated, I know that, as of a few years ago, Microsoft had one support technician for every 30 Ms Windows–based PCs but only one tech for every 120 Macs—and the Mac techs often didn’t have enough work to fill their days.

    On society? Well, I suppose it keeps Microsoft from having a veritable monopoly on operating systems. Got any more direction with this one?
