Sounds interesting. I was a huge fan. How was it?

I haven't read it, but I would. This has nothing to do with the book, but I used to have this chair shaped candleholder that had a spike in the seat of it, I called it "The Angry Chair" in honor of the song.

Hi there,Im Kerry,Im from New Zealand and own the original copy of Angry chair,as well as the story of Mike Starr and his rise and fall in Alice in Chains. For anyone who hasent read Angry chair, although its's a amazing book bacuse it is the only book ever made of Layne,Its shit in lots of ways, mainly due to the way it's put together and also the author's pointless chapters refering to the Renassiance and her own battle with anorexia, which i'm sure everyone would agree you cant even start to compare something like that to heroin addiction,Its pretty pathetic the lack of knowledge she actually had to write it. But I would reccomend it to anyone who is Layne fan, and it does contain his last interview.

I read the new version of Angry Chair. I didn't buy the previous version. It was okay. From what i had read about the first edition, it was a massive improvement. I still found some spelling mistakes and she repeated herself several times throughout the book AND she does rattle on about the history of heroin, goats and anorexia, but it was okay. The goat part made me laugh out loud. The book focuses upon Layne's childhood from his mother and sisters perspective. it is actually interesting and you do get a slight insight into layne. I thought some things maybe Layne would have cringled about. His mother stated that when layne was a kid he was in a kung fu tournment to get his yellow belt. his pants fell down in front of everyone. Then it goes into his teenage years etc. It kind of skips from there, and basically there is little more. I think (from what i have read on previous reviews) the author improved her chapter on Demri. She does mention interesting stuff about her health etc. I didn't know she was in and out of hospital for a long time with her heart condition. The major problem with the book is that the only people that would talk to the author was layne's mum and sister. no one else would comment. layne apparently phoned her toward the end of completion of the book and gives some kind of meat to the book, but overall it is weak at best. The artwork and photos are priceless, but are badly photocopied. It is a short "book" but for a serious Alice fan i do recommend this edition. Try to buy second hand.
