First: Ignore ignorant responses to your questions. Second: Moon Magick has proven very powerful to me. In fact, most of the spells I have accomplished have been in accordance to the Moon--and quite often they've come to fruition with amazing speed and strength. The symbolism of the Moon establishes a remarkably powerful connection with the practitioner--once the practitioner has a strong basis of understanding of what symbolism is being worked. One of the more impressive aspects of Moon Magick is the preparation as well as how very precise you can make your spells. The most important aspects of improving your Moon rituals are as follows: Attain an understanding of the symbolism involving the Moon phases. There are five main phases to the Moon that you need to pay attention to. 1. Full Moon - is a peak of psychic energy and, to me, is one of the most powerful phases with which to use for magick. To me, it is the highest manifestation of the world's energies and thus the energies with which to work are numerous. I've seen the most amazing and in-your-face visions during the Full Moon and have used this phase the most. This Moon should be used for, pretty much anything...heh. The Moon is pregnant and full, so it is ideal to work spells of fertility during this phase. Not meaning physical fertility for babies, though this falls into the same system--but also for attaining a fertile life. For finding love (not attracting someone specific, mind you, which is black magick), for attaining a new job or promotion, for understanding yourself and your emotions further, for protection, divination, divine communication and power. It's also good for ending spells that may not be working out the way you'd like. Or for ending things in general, since it is the culmination of the energies of the Earth. I use it mainly for divine communication. It's also very good, though not as good as the Sun, at shining light on the truth. The clouds beneath a Full Moon are quite magickal. They take on distinct shapes of deities (in some cases, so well defined that you can see their pours), seem to stop time and pause their flow across the sky--and enhance the overall magickal feeling and ability to communicate. So, always pay attention to the clouds during the Full Moon and, truthfully, all moon phases--though the Full Moon is the easiest to view this phenomenon. 2. New Moon - is the darkest and most secretive of the Moon phases. It's great for beginnings--for the start of a spell that will be ended on the Full Moon. It's very good for divination (finding out secrets), very good for protection (mainly with becoming invisible to negativity). This symbolism is a new start for the karma of the earth. It's fresh, starting anew. So it's great for new beginnings, i.e. the ending of a cycle or chapter. 3. Waning Moon -- I only use this moon to remove negativity from my life (wouldn't recommend using it to remove people from your life). Good in removing negative traits for yourself (smoking, drugs), or others if given permission. 4. Waxing Moon -- I use this moon to bring positivity from my life or others. Prosperity. Health. Positive traits. Jobs. Love. 5. Dark of the Moon -- The two days before the New Moon, do not cast any magick. This Moon stores all of the negativity of the Earth. Whatever magick you do will not work out the way you want it to. Wait until the New Moon so that it is fresh. So, to simplify: Full Moon - The peak. The end. The culmination. Full of energy and power. Great for endings. Divination (shining a light). Communication. Power. Pretty much good for any magick. Is awesome for adding more power to another spell. Giving the final push of energy to a spell. New Moon - Protection. Invisibility. Communication with spirits. Beginnings. Starting long-term spells. Waning Moon - Banishment of negativity. Pushing things from your life. Waxing - Bringing things into your life. Dark of the Moon - Do not cast magick. Divination fine. The second most important aspect of Moon Magick is an understanding of the symbolism of astrology. Attain an astrological calender. The Moon goes through the signs of the zodiac much faster than the Sun. The Moon then filters the energy of this sign. Whether you know it or not, the sign of the zodiac in which the Moon is in will 'flavor' the energy you are using with a specific purpose. If you want more power in your Moon Magick, always pay attention to the sign and phase that the Moon is in. This will enable you to further empower your intent with the intent of the universe and will keep you from casting a money spell at a time that would work against your intent. So, in short, you need to know the base elements of the astrological sign. Don't look at Aries and see your Mom, go into the deeper energy of the sign. Power. Strength. Force. Honesty. New Beginnings. For instance, when the Moon is Full in Aries--it's a great time to cast a spell for new beginnings, to have an extra push of fire energy toward your spell. The spell should be expected to show signs of working fast, with force--but keep in mind it could come too quick, or could be a wild ride. Full Moon in Taurus is a great time to cast money, advancement, stability, house protection spells--since Taurus' base energy has to do with stability, finances, relationships at home, et cetera. I prayed for stability on a Full Moon of Taurus and was promoted the next day. :) So this astrological symbolism grants power to the Moon phase in the symbolism of the sign. So, again, if you were to cast a banishment spell under the Waning Moon in Aries--you would cast out the negativity quick, forcefully and with an extra push. So, it takes a lot of study of astrology and practice to understand the base symbolism of the signs. As well as a good deal of preparation toward what phase and what sign would work best for your specific intent. The cool thing about this is that you are pretty much adding as much energy beneficially, and limiting the energies you do not want, toward the spell that you can and thus it has a greater chance of working in a way that you wish.
