  • I don't use it, I do not know what the bear code is.
  • I used to, but it has sort of fallen out of favor. As with the hanky code, it's always best to express what you are looking for with interpersonal communication, and not your butt or some arcane code. :o)
  • I'm not a bear (I'm a lesbian), but I have some friends who are...and none use the "bear code" of the different colored hankies....I do believe that's what you're talking about? I don't know all the codes, of course...but I think that the "bear code" has become passe' for the most part, has it not?
  • Wat de hell is ah bear code anyways????
  • If you are going into leather space or old school space (or Bear space) and you want to communicate something specific-- flagging comes in very handy, even today. People who use the hankie codes usually belong to a specific sub-culture that understands and uses the code. I imagine that outside of that space, flagging would be useless. First off, no one would know what the colors or sides mean. Second off, codes have a fascinating history. For some of us, we respect that history by flagging at specific events or clubs. Then again, when I was younger, I just did it to get attention from a specific kind of person. I did not know when and where I would meet this person, so I walked about like an advertisement.... Hunter green, right side. <wink>
