  • ~~this answer is only here to explain the question~~ All of the victims of the Holocaust had an excuse to be targeted. The Nazis found one for each group. The Jews and Gypsies were race polluters and were the only two actually included in the Final Solution. All the rest were included for various other reasons that did not include "race". However, the Slavs WERE included because of being of an inferior "race" but were not added into the Final Solution. If I am wrong as to why the Slavs were included in the Holocaust, please tell me. I, however, cannot find any other stated reason for the inclusion of the Slavs. Other than "Hitler had his hands full" I cannot think of any reason for the exclusion of the Slavs from the Final Solution.
  • Good answer really; I learned from it so I had to give it points though I know you didn't put it there for any. The only thing that I can add to the "reasoning" may help or just muddy the water more. I just recently learned that the word 'slave' is derived from Slav because for some reason that's where the all the surrounding areas invaded to get their slaves. So it may be that they were viewed as so inferior by this twisted plan that they weren't seen as enough of a threat to be added to the Final Solution? That may not even be relevant to the 'reasoning;' it's hard to wrap ones mind around such a mentality.
  • Actually, Slavs were added to the total who were exterminated in the Nazi Death Camps. Of the 11.590.000 who died, 3.000.000 were non Jewish Poles, as well as 1.800.000 Soviet prisoners, (who would mostly be Slavs), as well. I hope this answers your question?
