I dyed my hair black like a month ago and I hate it. I want to lighten my hair to light brown with highlights. What's the best way to do this?

If it's been a month, you could probably dye over it with a highlight kit (I think Loreal makes one) When in doubt, go to a hairstylist or cosmetology school- some salons will offer discounted prices if you allow a student to perform the colour/highlight, and some will do it for free if you act as a "hair model" for a demonstration.

dying my hair black was the BIGGEST mistake i EVER made. to get the black out, i had to pay a LOT of money to basically get it bleached out. it didn't totally fry my hair, but it definately dryed it out really bad!! now, a month later and after many hot oils and deep conditioners, its back to normal. but it was horrible. i went to many different salons and looked into many different options (color correction, etc) but if you dyed your hair black-- esp with store bought hair dye-- it's not going to come out easily!!
