The answer to your question may depend on the law of the State that made the initial custody determination. As a general matter, I would interpret an award of "physical custody" as a judicial grant of "sole" physical custody to the "custodial" parent. Accordingly, I would also expect that visitation rights would be granted to the "noncustodial" parent. But, each state has its own definitional nuances and you can't obtain a definitive answer to your question unless you identify the state involved.
My 2 almost 3 yr old returned with a burn/bruise on his lower back/butt. What can I do to stop visitation?
