  • Is your computer old? Many old computers freeze up due to working the processor or motherboard to long. This can also be caused by overheating. If your computer is less than 10 years old, than consider buying a more powerful power supply or a new processor cooling fan. (the cooling fan would more explain it)
  • Curious.... what are your power saving settings set at? In other words, after how long is Windows set to turn your monitor and / or hard drives off?
  • like Karl says go to control panel power options check the setting here, chances are they are set to go to hibernation just reset
  • wouldn't happen to be running windows ME would you? it has major memory leakage issues that causes it to do that. Could you be downloading from a p2p site or possibly have a screen saver that is eating those precious resources? we need some more details here.
