  • yes, I'v been through physical therapy.....I was supposed to lay on my stomach and do kinda push ups, but leave my stomach on the floor this was not an exercise, it was just to make sure my discs were in place, then lay on my back with my calves on a chair or couch and lift my butt in the air, hold, then lower......also using a resistance band around my ankles make slow kicking motions against the resistance, forward, sideways, backwards, and across the butt lifting move has also been in magazines and said it is proven to lower the risk of back injury by more than 30%
  • I have had two back surgeries so there are things that are hard to do with my back, crunches/sit ups being one however I use one of those balls and this allows me to actually do crunches and sit ups with no pain most of the time (unless i am just having a bad day to begin with)
  • I have had back issues since I was a teenager. the thing that I find best is yoga and pilates - the pilates helps to strengthen your core and the yoga helps your flexibility.
  • When I sleep and I don't give my back proper support, I end up having back aches the next day. See if supporting your back when you sleep alleviates the pain during the day.
  • Anything that improves the strength of the core. If your core was stronger, then you would have less pain in your lower back. Crunches, as your mom said, will help, but there are many other core exercises that you can do also.
