I lost my best guy friend about three years ago. He was injured in Vietnam and lost use of his arms and his legs. Of course he was wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. He re-gained the use of his arms somewhat, and was able to drive, and hold a job. And, he was one of our town's most respected and best-loved residents. Being paralyzed didn't hinder him -- he took a huge negative and made it a huge positive -- by being a friend and a good listener to anyone who needed it, and his positive attitude was a big help to many. So, yes, if my being paralyzed could help me help others, then I would definitely want to be around for a little while longer.

Yes!! I can say this with certainty. I was paralysed due to a back injury and thankful no one had given up even when I did(almost). I live alone and very independant physically.I am in an electric wheelchair and hapy to be here. The only thing I do not do is change light bulbs in the ceiling!
