If you can remove the hard drive, you should be able to transfer the information, if the hard drive was not physically damaged.

depends on how damaged the hard drive is, they're pretty sensitive to damage. Specialists might be able to extract some of the data, but you will almost certainly end up paying A LOT for that. I know someone who ended up paying about $1400 to get some data from a broken USB flash drive
