Well when your on top you control how fast how hard and hoow deep. If he does it he could do it to fast for you or to hrad and it could actually hurt just tell him to take it eazy or you wana be on top

Did you see a GYN?
Did you have an MRI?
That is not normal and there must be a reason for it, find out why and don't take "It could be this or that" from a doctor. They do that when they don't know and are too lazy to find out.

I would recommend seeing your OBGYN. Sometimes vaginal muscles can experience pain upon intercourse for many reasons. I would talk to your OBGYN about this. Sex shouldn't be excruciating and OBGYNs are trained to help with this type of problem. You won't be the first person to ask your doc what is going on and how to make sex pleasurable rather than painful.
