  • A USB flash drive has a similar function to a floppy disk, only it has a larger capacity and is more reliable. You can store any kind of files you want on it. You could use flash drives to back up your files if you like, only I wouldn't, as they can get quite expensive if you need over 8 GB. (you probably have about 50GB of space on your hard drive now). All your files etc probably won't fit on a flash drive, so I suggest buying a portable hard drive instead, which is like a USB only larger in both capacity and size.
