  • I grew up loving gardening. In the town I lived in, Marseilles, IL, a lot of my Grandma's Italian friends didn't have yards, they were all devoted to flowerbeds and vegetable patches. I have to have a place to grow things, even if it's flower boxes on the railings and landings of the staircase up to my apartment.

  • I used to hate gardening. I just saw it as a chore to stop the back yard turning into a wilderness. Then I started geting interested in growing my own fruit and vegetables and I love it now. I'm not too good with flowers and am less interested in those, but I'll probably get more into them as my confidence grows. I like gardening because I find it relaxing, I get to exercise in the fresh air and sunshine and I eat loads of really fresh organic produce. Not to mention the feeling you get from being able to turn a seed into a thriving healthy plant!

  • I love gardening. When I get bored with the house cleaning I go outside and do the weeding, planting and general clean up in my front and back yard. Gardening is not only physically demanding but also mentally relaxing and enjoyable.

  • I love gardening and find it very therapeutic. I also enjoy the challenge of growing different things from seed, or growing tropical plants that we're not supposed to be able to grow in the UK. My garden is constantly evolving because I keep getting different ideas and moving things round! I just cannot imagine life with no garden.
