  • I think getting a manicure is pretty safe. I don't think it's any more dangerous that putting on fingernail polish. I say go for it :)
  • The thing that keeps me from this type of thing is that your own nails will be soft and paper thin if you decide to take them off. The chemicals are toxic and if your immune system isn't strong, it could affect you slightly.
  • I've been doing nails for 20 years now, and I don't have health issues, if anybody going to have health issues it would be the nail tech they are in it all day. And for acrylics, you get what you pay for in this business, if you pay cheap your going to get cheap work. If you pay more, you will get a better job, and better products, and less damage to your nails. Every time I get a client who went to a cheap place there nails were thick and ugly, and there nail plates were so filed down from those electric drills. I wonder how most manicurtist get there license.(they probably don't) So be careful were you go.

  • I've asked and the manicurist says that it is not absorbed by the body. I don't know for sure. I think I've probably used some nail hardeners that were more toxic. +4
