Well it's no more disposable than other parts. But it is exposed to a lot of heat, so quality of manufacture and design do matter.
Ok, sorry, I was paid to say that: the truth is it's part of an international global conspiracy to make you buy a new furnace. Somebody has to keep the produce/consume cycle spinning, and you were chosen.

You're reading My furnace ignitor is not working! We just replaced it one year ago. Does anyone know if this part is meant to be 'disposable'?grrr!

Haha! Thanks for your answer. I just called the heating and cooling people, who tell me that this part needs replacement every two to three years. Argh. Oh well, at least it will be warm in here by this afternoon... I hope. brrrrr...

Just buy a big Ford Exclusion XL and help us warm the whole planet up! :)

Why stop there? I could buy Hummers for my entire extended family! :)

Sorry, there's a limit of 3 per family. The Male Endowment Compensation lobby got that one passed to avert shortages where the need is critical.

Wow, that's really disappointing. I was truly hoping my family could use up all of the available oil sources in the next decade. Wouldn't it be neat to make history like that?! That is after we've collected all the available blood diamonds and have them implanted in our teeth. :)

Are there a lot of SUVs running around the streets in Iowa?
by Brand Y on February 22nd, 2008
Oh, yes. There are suburban housewives dropping their children off at school in Hummers. I don't think any of them are then driving off into deserts or navigating mountainous terrain. It seems to be quite 'trendy', along with giant diamond rings. I don't know how they can steer the steering wheel with the weight of the diamonds on their little hands!

LOL. Same here in So. Cal... I wanna produce a custom bumper sticker. All you gotta do is walk along the line of these massive cows as they're queued up at 3:15 to pick up the kid from school, and smack one on each car. But I struggle with the text... my current candidate is "My carbon footprint stomped your honor student. Wanna clean the treads?"
