Yes, you can certainly wreck your laptop, regardless of what power adapter you might or might not use.

However, using the charger described in the question will not do it.

What you need to know about any power adapter or charger is that the voltage needs to be close to that for which the device is designed, and the current (amperage) needs to be *AT LEAST* as much as the device requires.

For the laptop in question, you need to use a charger that puts out 15 volts, or something very close to it, and which has a capacity of at least five amperes.  If you use a charger that has a capacity of less than five amperes, then it will not work, and it might damage the charger.  If you use a charger that has a capacity of a hundred amperes, or a thousand amperes, or a million amperes, it will work exactly as well as the one with a capacity of five amperes.

I just wanted to add a bit of clarification to my brother's answer. The ampere rating refers to the amount of current the charger can safely deliver to devices plugged into it. If the charger is rated for say 10 amps and the device only need 5 amps, then the device will still only draw 5 amps. This will leave you with 5 amps worth of capacity for the charger that is just not used. You could even potentially use the unused capacity to run a different device at the same time. However, if the charger's capacity is less than that which is required for the device (let's say 3 amps for this case) then the device will try to draw more current than the charger is intended to deliver. Resistance within the charger could cause it to overheat, which can cause damage to the charger and, in extreme conditions, even cause a fire.

any time you use the wrong Amperage or polarity you can mess up electrical items. Why would you want to wreck a laptop. Give it to me, I'll sell it and make some money. Hey... i might even split the money with ya.

If you are using a charger made by/for a recognizable/name-brand company, you can be reasonably safe in using it if the voltage and polarity match up AND the charger can deliver as much amperage as the old charger did. Otherwise, you could destroy the power-supply section of the laptop or the battery by overcharging the battery, which these days, can be risky, especially if you are using a third-party battery. Off-brand Li-ion rechargables have had a spotty track record in accepting full recharges from a deeply-discharged state.
