My family gave up on me when I was 22 & was into heavy drugs. That was tough love & it made me wake up that I was hurting my family. I woke up & took action to change my life. They have all came full circle since I have been clean for 10 yrs. Now I am the one that they all go to when they have problems with their marriages or need someone to watch their kids. In fact, my nieces & nephews would rather live with me than their own parents.

Everybody? No... All but a couple of friends and family? Yes. What did I do? Pulled out of that group, remained friends with those who had remained friends with me, and made new friends.

A lot of people have given up on me or just walked away. Luckily I found my husband and his family. It's hard to believe that they won't do the same but they haven't yet and it's been 16yrs, since I met them and they came into my life.

My best friend kept on trying to fix every one of my problems that he heard about. He gave up. And it was a releif. I needed a friend, not a counselor. ~+~

Many high school teachers have. I didn't care, as I gave up many years prior.
