I think you should distinguish between spirituality and religion. Religion is organized spirituality (ideally). It sounds to me like you are interested in spiritual matters, and may have views about them, but haven't actually formalized that by choosing a specific religious path. That's a pretty common category people find themselves in these days, so you have lots of company. I consider that all spirituality is related in one way or another to the matter of wholeness: i.e. the relationship between the part (you) and the whole (ultimate reality, God, everything, etc). Religions are organized programs for resolving the fragmentation between whole and part, for "binding them together" again (the Latin root for "religio" means "to bind"). You can be interested in, and engage in this binding process without having chosen a specific path.

This is what the current scientific worldview offers right now....which is great, because I think for the first time ever religion and science, arent so seperate! Or put it this way, its getting harder and harder not to believe in God, with every bit more we find out about the universe. Some scientists would argue the exact opposite of that. Saying the scientific worldview has proven so much, that we cant possibly believe in God. But if you take all of science, not just specialized fields, youll see quite the opposite.. Anyway.... We've seen all the way down to the atomic scale, and we have quantum physics which 'proves' the 'void'(Or Great Spirit to American Indians, Brahman to Hindus Holy Ghost/God to Christians etc) Then we have fractal mathematics and chaos theory, showing that, indeed everything in the universe is random, and evolution was a random process....and will continue to be.....but if you understand chaos, and fractals, youll know that in order for fractals/chaos to work, there has to be an equation first, or an attractor pulling everything towards itself. Which means its only random up to a point, the rest is predetermined. That ORIGINAL EQUATION is God!! Its the GREAT ATTRACTOR! Or whatever the hell you wanna call it...He/She/It resides in the quantum void, manifesting itself through trillions of consciousnesses in the universe. We all have the holy ghost in us, because we are all part of the holy ghost. And we will all return too him/it. Then theres all the research on quantum spin, and torsion physics, proving everything has spin, and rotates inside a toroid. Hard to explain but the strange connection here is that if you take the hebrew bible and wrap the first chapter around a pole, the letters match in a matrix, and that matrix is a toroid shape!!! Also if you take the first sentence of the bible in Hebrew and break up the words to make other words you get some strange, yet telling, words...like.... Veil, Matrix, Chaos, Confusion, Primeval Ocean, Mind, Spirit, Void. Hmmmmm.......makes you think. (not sure if thats in the bible as well, Im not christian, so havent studied it well) Then theres the research on the pineal gland and how it produces DMT (dimethyltrptamine) and is literally our 'Third' Eye. It has a lens and a retina in reptiles! And is how we are linked to God. Since the Pineal is magnetically shielded, its been proven that the water inside it is actually flipping dimensions into the quantum void...and if we focus on the thrid eye, this is what we see, in terms of dreams and visions. Since the DMT is the chemical for dreaming. If you think thats imposiible, its been proven that a buckyball/fullerene molecule could also flip dimensions when magnetically shielded!! Who knows how big a molecule has to be before it cant do that anymore, but we know that its happening in the pineal. Also another strange fact... The Tibetan Book of the Dead says the souls time to reincarnate into a new body is 49 days. So a soul resides in the Bardo for 48 days (quantum void/heaven) and then is reincarnated. Funny thing is the Pineal gland only shows up in a human fetus at 49 days!!! and is also when the babies sex can be determined! So all this new research is proving day by day, to me anyways, that there must be a god/creator/uber-mind There can only logically be one though.... Whether you call him God, Brahmin, Great Spirit, Allah, Quantum Void, Uber-Mind, it just doesnt matter. Names are just a finger, pointing to the moon, being mistaken for the moon. They cant change the fact that there exists a GREAT ATTRACTOR guiding the evoution of the universe. I dont know about you, but that blows my mind!! But although I have come to believe in God, since being an atheist, I still have not adopted any stories from any religions. They are all just fingers pointing to the moon, made by man. The Moon is the real thing. Thats why Taoism and Zen are my choice..... They strip the silly little stories, and get straight to understanding God Thats just my .02
