uh, no, but it does make the mouse happy!

As a knowledgeable person in this area, wiggling does not make it faster and actually puts a load on the CPU and resources, thus slowing things down a bit. EDIT: PS/2 Mice have much lower CPU usage. This is because they have their own processor that controls it's functions. Where as USB mice are "dumb" and lack any sort of dedicated processor and rely solely on the same CPU that runs your program to process the Input information. USB just adds extra load to the Pentium chip, PS/2 has little impact.

Yeah, especially when the hourglass cursor comes up. It helps shake down the sand. :P

Not with my system. Sometimes we just have to wait a bit.

It does not make the computer go faster, but in certain apps, (scrolling in Excel at the bottom bar) it can make response faster.

i had one case when moving my mouse actually REDUCED cpu load. I think it was caused by the helluvalot *if you don't do anything, i'll do everything in the background* programs. But pretty wierd though. And thanks BugMeNot

Yep. Punching the screen makes it "go" faster too.

Definitely but you must move it counter clockwise and keep both feet off the floor. The CPU issue was a biggy in Windows 95 but they found the problem in Windows 96 and reversed the polarity. That is why you must keep your feet up so you don't ground out !

No, but it makes my cat go crazy.
