I have a modified xbox. Today I turned it on and the hard drive sounded like it was trying to start but would make a click sound and then try to start again. It just repeats this cycle until the screen says something about my xbox needing serv

Odds are your Xbox doesnt have a proper connection. Try taking the Xbox apart and reconnecting all the wires within the Xbox and then turn it on again (leave the top off) if it works put the top back on, if not take out the IDE cables (long take like wires that connect to harddrive and disk drive) and replace them with noremal PC IDE cables.
