  • i haven't heard of this but i have heard that if you double their height when they are 2 thats how tall thay will be (unfortunately i dont know weather its when they have just turned 2 or later into the 2's) :)
  • I learned about myths such as these in my developmental biology course... there is no way to predict how tall your kids will be based on a bone or any other measurement. Development through puberty likes to take its own path, and it does not depend on a child's physical characteristics a priori. In fact, development in general and puberty in particular turns some genes "on" or "off", and you can't predict which ones. It is somewhat random. That is why identical twins look more different as time passes... different genes are expressed as their bodies develop. So, you can't even tell how tall your kid will be based on genetics/family history.
