No not at all reasonable. By the way, which bible translation do you want to interpret word for word. Will you include some of the other gospels that were not included in the bible as we know it today. Would you leave out portions that were obviously written by someone on acid (revelations). What was the bible written in originally? greek, aramaic....... I used to know in college, but I must have replaced that knowledge with something more useful.

God also require we think too. And at different times in a person's life words and ideas will mean different things. I don't believe that interpretation of the Bible should be static. Words and ideas and their meanings and humans change all the time.
