  • My parents and my inlaws still have it.
  • I still have dial-up. I live in the country, I could get DSL through satellite, but it's WAY too expensive right now, just to save a little time. I am hoping it will become more affordable soon....I hate dial-up. :-(
  • My mom has dial-up.
  • My ninety year old Grandad has dial up.
  • spend less money on BACON and get Hi-speed...
  • DIAL UP IS SO "NOW" AND RETRO...COOL AND HIP
  • Dial up? Have you heard of this new invention called fire? It's great you can use it to keep warm and cook the mammoth you hunted with a stick and rock.
  • Yeah, it is all we have in Bulgarian villages, sometimes I get transfer rates of over 3K bps!
  • No you're not the only one. Yes we're still on dial up. Won a wireless modem and 6 months free broadband recently and couldnt get it duh! Got the modem fine, but no broadband available in my area - old exchange (being updated yea right) and too many in my area still on BB. no room for new connections. NICE! I guess 6 months free dial up plus the modem accounts for something seeing as how they cannot provide BB here in a large city suburb Grrrr!
  • Dial-up is compared to a 1957 Chevrolet. Its antique, but still around.
  • Yes, there are tons of people still on dialup. I've only been on DSL for about a year. My dialup was not that slow except for trying to watch a video. I still keep a dialup account for when traveling as I will not use wireless in hotels for anything like banking -- I want a wired connection for stuff like that.
  • I have many customers with dial up... what i always check to see is 1 does there ISP have a proxy server (free) 2 do they have a dial up accelerator (free) for example Sypatico does, they just dont advertise it. and last do they have cell phone reception in their house. All cell phone providers are now offring a connection to the internet using a 'cell phone modem' Looks like a little thumb drive, connects like a blackberry would, is up to a 1 meg service, and gets you off your land line.
  • I was on dial up until July 2008 and then we found a wireless broadband company had set up nearby to our house so we started using them. The difference in speed was unbelievable.
  • I did until eight months ago. Most of the county I moved from (and probably much of the STATE) still does, and most can only get it at 28.8k DSL and cable are only for those that live near cities or large towns; places with pavement. When the local police department (okay, the one part-time officer) can't even find your house, you know you're in the sticks.
  • A few months ago I still used it. Now I have a 2MB down/512K up DSL connection.
