  • Yes, I think we were when we bought the one car we bought at a dealership. The car was way overpriced, due to the interest rate, but we really liked it. We tried to contact the salesman a couple weeks later about something and he'd been fired. I suspect he was doing something wrong.
  • That's kind of their job. If I buy a new car I always try to get them to come down on the price. Then they try to rip me off. Finally, I get them to come down a little, and then bring in my dad, who worked at G.M. for 30 years. He gets an extra discount. They never expect that. Bam!
  • Many years ago, I bought a car from a dealer who was my brother-in-law, and it died just a few months later, even though he had assured me it was a really great car that would last me for 3 or 4 more years. By then, I had moved to another state, and nothing could be done.
  • funny thing is no!...I have twisted many a car dealers arm and got very very good prices out of them ...maybe its because I turn up with a few mates in our overalls and car jacks and tools in hand that scares them ...lol
